I already have this dress in navy blue, so when I saw they released it in this neutral gingham I immediately had to get it. That's just how it goes when you find something that actually works for your height. You buy every color.

The dress is lined, which makes such a difference. No weird transparency, no extra slip or tank required. It also has the most incredible smocking all around the front and the back, so it cinches in beautifully without you having to think about fit at the waist. And the puffy sleeves are so good, they add that little something without feeling costume-y.

But the detail I keep coming back to is the length. I'm 5'2" and it hits me just right. That is not something I say lightly about midi dresses. This is the perfect summer dress for petites, full stop. And yes, it has pockets!
