MY MEASUREMENTS
Height: 5'2"
Inseam: 26.5"
Waist: 24"
Hips: 33"
Bust: 31”
medium/dark wash denim
One of the easiest trends to incorporate you may already have in your closet- medium to dark wash denim. You only need a pair or two to make a impact. One pair of longer inseam to wear with heels like the Levis High Rise Jean, and a shorter inseam to wear with sneakers or flats like the Abercrombie High Rise 90s Relaxed Jean. A dark pair of blue denim adds a warmth and richness to an outfit that is perfect for fall. Pair it with a dark sweater or top and you have an outfit that feels fresh and timeless.
oversized clothing
Another trend I’ve sure you have seen a lot of lately is oversized clothing. If you are petite like me (I’m '5’2”), you may feel like this look can swallow your frame, but I think there is a tasteful way to participate. One way is to break it up - wearing a oversized sweater like the Abercrombie Madeline Crew Sweater with a more regular fitting denim. Or a barrel style or wide leg pants like Aritzia Effortless Pant the with a tighter fitting top or buttoned cardigan. Having ways to show your silhouette while still wearing the effortless, cool girl oversized style is the perfect balance for petite people like me!
statement color
I’ve seen so many pops of color lately, and this is an easy trend to incorporate because it takes just one piece for that pop of color. From boots to sweaters to bags, a bright, bold solid color can really bring attention and interest to your outfit. My closet leans more neutral, so a statement shoe or hat like the Polo Ralph Lauren Sport Chino Baseball Hat is an effortless way to add a fun, personal touch to your outfits.
dark nails
This trend is a easy one - dark nails. Burgundy, navy, and chocolate brown are super in right now and such a great way to match to your outfits and feel the cozy vibes for fall. Having your nails done always makes me feel put together and can add to your personal style/vibe. I love the Olivia & June Dark Chocolate polish right now!
suede accessories
I have mentioned this countless times in my recent styling videos, because it is that good- suede accessories! I think suede is here to stay for a while and you can easily incorporate it through belts, boots or bags. I love the texture it adds and the unstructured nature of the material brings a soft warmth to any outfit. I have so many suede pieces now, but I especially love the Madewell The Belted Stachel Bag, and the Madewell The Lexie Ankle Boot.
loafer with socks
I like this trend because it extends the wear of your shoes into another season. Loafers with socks are super fun and practical way to stay warm in the colder months, as well as express your personal style. Whether its smooth leather, suede or patented leather, you can wear it with skirts, tailored pants and denim. You can also have fun with colors here like a bold red - Tiggy Loafers Oxblood Crinkle Patent shoes. Also adding texture through socks like the Women's Lettuce Edge 6pk Ankle Socks can add interest and a flare of your personal style.
equestrian style
Maybe its just me but I have seen the equestrian, riding boots style everywhere lately - on Anthropologie, Madewell, and Sezane’s websites. These taller rounded toe boots with oversized jackets paired together may be the cutest style. I feel the farm lifestyle is really popular right now and it bleeds into fashion. I love taller boots, so I see myself wearing the Anthropologie Maeve Buckle-Strap Riding Boots.
barn jacket/chore jacket
Basing off the last trend, oversized Barn/chore jackets are super in right now. It is a more causal style of jacket, and because of the size, it easily layers well over chunky sweaters, making it perfect for the colder months. I love paring it with skirts and shorts with a tall boot - I think those proportions are super cute. I love the corduroy collar like on the Aritiza Barnett Lightweight Chore Jacket. You can also pair suede and the barn jacket together for a really fun outfit.
white t-shirt under everything
This trend is a easy way to add layer and depth to any outfit - layering a white tee under a sweater or sweatshirt. It also brings more warmth to your outfit, making it a causal, laid back look. I love wearing my favorite white tee, the Everlane The Box-Cut Tee in Essential Cotton under almost everything.
Top Button Buttoned on Cardigan
For the final trend which goes along with the white tee under everything, is the top button buttoned on a cardigan. Its a super easy styling switch that can bring freshness to your outfit. Wearing my Sezane Emile Cardigan with a white tee and denim is a effortless, on trend outfit. These switches can help bring your closet into 2025 without having to get new pieces, just wear them a different way.
