13 Summer Outfit Ideas | Summer Lookbook - petite friendly
It’s finally that time of the year again - Summer Lookbook season! While I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Tennessee summers, I am a huge fan of dressing cute even when it is warm. You guys know I’m a neutral girl through and through, but I have been trying to incorporate more prints and colors into the summer time. This haul includes pieces from some of my favorite brands like Aritzia, Madewell, and Abercrombie. I have been loving the Aritzia Eleta Linen Maxi Dress, and the Abercrombie Madeline Crew Sweater. I hope you guys enjoy this haul and get some inspiration for the summer time!

Outfit 1
Shorts: Size 24 in Foster Wash, Top: Size XXS in White
For the first outfit I have been loving this Madewell Ruffled Puff-Sleeve Top. This blouse is so fun and flowy, the perfect shirt for those hot summer days. It’s super light weight and doesn’t cling anywhere. I’m wearing a nude bra underneath, you can get away with not wearing a tank top. I paired it with the Madewell The Perfect Vintage Jean Short. These are the perfect shorts if you are petite like me and don’t want a super long short. To finish off the look I’m wearing my J. Crew New Colbie Wide-Strap Buckle Sandals in faux raffia and my Madewell The Essential Sling Crossbody Bag.

Pants: XS 28in inseam in Flax, Tank: XS Warm Taupe, Shirt: XS in Sundried Olive
The best way to beat the heat is by wearing linen. These Quince 100% European Wide Leg Linen Pants are my FAVORITE linen pants. They have a nice thick waistband and come in 3 different inseams lengths for shorter people like me (I’m 5’2)! On top I’m wearing my Quince Eco-Knit Cropped Sweater Tank. This is such a great tank top to wear everyday, it’s so soft. My go-to throw over shirt is the Aritzia Relaxed Linen Shirt. I cannot recommend this enough, it’s the perfect long sleeve for sun coverage, or a cover up. It’s super light weight and can fold down easily to fit in a bag like the J. Crew Palma Bucket Bag in Handknotted straw and leather. J Crew has the best woven bags and this bag is so cute. To finish off the look I’m wearing my Everlane The City Crossover Sandal.

I’m OBSESSED with the Aritzia Eleta Linen Maxi Dress. This is the perfect summer dress because it is flowy and light weight. I love the slit in the front and the tie around the waist - it’s so flattering! I paired it with the Sezane Aubane Low Babies. I will be wearing these shoes all summer long, they are so stunning. The Sezane Justine Basket Bag takes the cake for the best summer bag, it’s so cute and functional.

Shorts: XS in Martini Olive, Top: XXS in Cream
My summer staple shorts are these Quince 100% European Linen Shorts. I have them in like every color I cannot get enough of them. They are super light weight and comfortable for surviving the humid Nashville summers. The Sezane Giselle Top is such a soft material. You may have to wear it with some sticky boobs as it is a looser fitting, lower cut top. If you like this material Sezane also makes a cardigan out of it as well for a more coverage option. I’m wearing the Walmart Project Cloud Woman's Sandals and my Sezane Milo Vintage Textile Bag.

If you’re looking for a solid pair of shorts, the Everlane The Utility Short are for you. They are a really great fit and length, and the material is super high quality. I feel everyone needs a white short for the summer. For my top, the Quince 100% Organic Cotton Waffle Knit Sweater Tank is one I keep coming back to. I always get cold indoors during the summer and this Aritzia Cruise Linen Merchant Jacket has saved me. I love carrying around a lightweight jacket to throw on at night or indoors to keep me warm. To finish off the look, I’m wearing my J. Crew Georgina Sandals in canvas and leather, and my Sezane Claude Bag.

Pants: XXS Short in Light Brown Gingham, Tank: XS in White
These Abercrombie Linen-Bland Pull-On Pant are everything. I have them in multiple colors because they are just that good. They come in short and long lengths, and are a mid rise fit on the waist. This neutral gingham color is so perfect for the summer, I see myself walking on the beach watching the sunset in these pants! I love high neck tops like the Madewell Smocked Boatneck Tank when you have kids, it makes it easier to bend down and move with them. I paired my Everlane The Day Crossover Sandal for shoes, and my Madewell The Dakota Saddle Bag for my bag.

Dress: 00 in Emma Floral Burgundy
I found the perfect summer wedding guest dress, the Madewell Ruffled Scoopneck Maxi Dress in Floral. The neckline is so flattering with the ruffle detail. I am wearing it with just a pair of sticky boobs and I am good to go. For nicer events, I gravaite towards a cream heel like the Dolce Vita Naira heels. It goes with everything and is a beautiful, modern design. If you’re looking for a wedding clutch, the J. Crew Portofino Handknotted Clutch is for you. It doesn’t have straps, it’s the perfect clutch for a wedding or summer event.

Shorts: XS in Classic Mini Gingham, Tank: XS in White
I can’t get enough of the Quince 100% European Linen Shorts. These are the same shorts as in outfit 4, but in gingham. Gingham is such a classic summer print that goes with other textures well like this knit Gap Factory Tank. I love the scalloped detailing and the high quality thick knit material. I swear by these Everlane Court Sneaker, I have worn them through Tokyo and New York. They are so comfortable and have felt amazing through the hundreds of miles I’ve walked in them, and they go with everything. For my bag, the Everlane The Luxe Italian Leather Crossbody is one of my favorites. I love the high quality leather and the size of this bag.

Shorts: XS in chamomile/brown stripe, Tank: XS in sun-dried olive, Sweater: Medium in straw
I’m trying to get more colorful in my summer wardrobe with this outfit. I have been loving the Buck mason Mainstay Boxer Short. I got it in this fun stripe pattern that goes beautifully with the Aritzia Rib Seamless Crew Tank. The high neck and fit of this tank top sold me, I think I will get it in a few more colors. I matched it perfectly with the Madewell The Remy Mary Jane Flat. I love this style of shoe, and in green suede is so fun. When it gets chilly, I got the Abercrombie Madeline Crew Sweater to throw on. I sized up a few sizes for a oversized fit, and it’s so cozy. To finish off the look, the Quince Italian Leather Patchwork Crossbody is a beautiful everyday bag.

Dress: XS in Classic Mini Gingham
This Quince 100% European Linen Fit & Flare Midi Dress in Classic Mini Gingham is so dreamy. It fits me like a glove and feels so amazing on. It’s linen and fully lined. It’s just the perfect summer dress for a causal wear, or dressed up with Madewell The Neeka Ankle-Strap Heeled Sandal. These heels are super comfortable, I love the buckle detailing. I again have my Sezane Justine Basket Bag because I had to pair a perfect summer dress with a perfect summer bag!

Shorts: 00 in Medium Wash, Top: Small in Natural Clay Stripe
I’m always on the hunt for a good pair of denim shorts, and the Abercombie High Rise Dad Short are too good. I love the length and color of this denim, it’s the perfect fourth of July outfit with this Buck Mason Catalina Brenton Tee. I have been loving Buck Mason since my husband introduced me to the brand, and I can’t get enough. This shirt is so comfy and would be perfect to throw on after a day at the lake. For shoes I have on the Everlane The Suede Crossover Sandal. These are a nice, clean cut pair of everyday slides to throw on when you’re in a hurry or running errands. For my bag I went with my Madewell The Dakota Saddle Bag.

Skort: Size 0 in Light Birch, Tank: XS in Cream
This next outfit is so chic. The Aritiza Pemberley Skort is such a good staple to have in your closet. It’s got the built in shorts underneath and this fabric doesn’t wrinkle, so it’s perfect if you’re traveling and don’t have access to a steamer. I paired it with the Abercrombie Luxeloft V-Neck Vest. I love the button detailing on this vest, and the knit material. I paired it with my Madewell The Mila Organic Hardware Throng Slide Sandals, and my J. Crew Portofino Handknotted Clutch.

I found so many great dresses for this haul like the Aritzia Technique Poplin Dress. The fit is so flattering, I want to wear this everyday. I love the cut of this dress with the scrunching around the hips. To keep it summery, the Madewell The Amee Wedge Sandal is a classic. You can’t go wrong with wedges in the summer time, and these Madewell ones are so cute with the suede!

Finding activewear that actually fits when you're petite is tricky, but luckily Lululemon seems to always have what I need! This haul has the perfect summer pieces for exercising or just running errands - petite approved (I’m 5’2). Plus this butter yellow color might be one of the best colors to wear in the summer!
