My Favorite Denim Shorts For Summer!
We got our first proper taste of summer warmth this week in Nashville (just in time for the Taylor Swift Era’s Tour, which was AMAZING) which had me breaking out all my favorite denim shorts. I made this video last year, and I’ve gotten so many requests to make a follow up. Here is an update on my top picks for denim shorts for the summer! I kept it simple this time around and wore the same Abercrombie tank in every picture, to really help showcase the shorts! Agolde Dee Shorts

We started this video off with my favorite shorts of all time… The Agolde Dee Shorts are everything I like in a denim short. The material is thick and substantial, which speaks to the high quality, while the cutout on the side allows for great mobility and comfort. The rise is super high, which I think is extremely flattering, especially if you are on the shorter end like me. They also have a button fly! Agolde is one of those brands I had always been interested in, and I’m so glad that I invested in these shorts - they’re a bit of a higher price point but so worth it in my opinion!

As if the Agolde Dee shorts weren’t already good enough, they also come in different washes! Here are the Agolde Dee shorts in Black. The fit is exactly the same on these as the light wash above, which is great, because these are as close to perfect as I have found in a pair of denim shorts.
Paige Dani Shorts

The Paige Denim Dani Shorts are another one of my favorite black denim shorts for summer. These shorts differ from the Agolde shorts mainly in the feel of the material. These shorts are a lighter weight denim with more flex in the material, which makes them a super comfy all day wear - they also have a zipper fly instead of a button fly!

Madewell The Perfect Vintage Jean Short

If you are a lover of Madewell’s jeans like I am, then these are the shorts for you! These shorts are a descendent of the perfect vintage jean, and they fit just like it. Very comfortable, with a decently high rise. These are probably the most comfy of all of the shorts :)
Walmart Free Assembly Women's Rolled Cuff Jean Shorts
Wearing size 0 in light wash
Y’all call me crazy but these $17 shorts from Walmart are honestly amazing. I’ve found the trick with Walmart sizing is to always go 1-2 sizes smaller, so I am wearing a size 0 here. The wash on these is classic and timeless. These are my go to if you are shopping on a budget! But even if you’re not… I can’t deny the fact that these are just a great pair of shorts!
Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Dad Short

We have officially entered the “trend” section of the haul with these High Rise Dad Shorts from Abercrombie. If you are petite like me (I’m 5’2”), the long shorts trend can feel hard to pull off. I never really quite liked the way biker shorts looked on me. However - I think these Dad shorts are a success! They are super high waisted, and feel very “cool girl” for summer. This wash is also super comfy and stretchy! I could see myself dressing these up with a blazer or wearing them with a fitted tank and white sneakers!
Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise 4 Inch Mom Short
Wearing size 23 in light (I wish I would have gotten a 24 because these don’t have as much stretch as the “Dad” shorts!)
As much as I love the Dad shorts above, I will admit to you that the Mom shorts are a little more my speed. These feel like the classic pair of blue denim shorts that every woman should own. They are not overly distressed, and they just fit how you want them to! My only note on these is that because Abercrombie is SO hot right now, it can be hard to find your sizes in stock, which was the problem I ran into with these shorts. I am typically a 24 in Abercrombie jeans & shorts, but I have been checking back for months to find these shorts in a 24 with no success. I went ahead and sized down because sometimes in their jeans I can be a 23. If I could find them in my typical size, I would probably prefer that, as I like my jeans fitted but my shorts a little less constricting! I would recommend just ordering your normal size in these shots since the denim in this wash is slightly more rigid and because there is no split on the side they are a little more fitted on the thighs!

Finding activewear that actually fits when you're petite is tricky, but luckily Lululemon seems to always have what I need! This haul has the perfect summer pieces for exercising or just running errands - petite approved (I’m 5’2). Plus this butter yellow color might be one of the best colors to wear in the summer!
