Sizing Options for Petite Pants

Petite pants are available in a wide range of sizes to ensure a great fit for different body types. Typically, you'll find numeric sizes starting from 00 and going up to 18 or higher. Many brands also offer more detailed waist sizing—think 24 to 34 inches—so you can find a truly customized fit.

You may also see lettered options like XXS through 2XL, which correspond to hip and waist measurements. With this variety, there's a good chance you'll find something that works for you—no hemming required!

JEANS

Sezane Brut Sexy Jeans (Size 2 in Bleach)

First up are the Sezane Brut Sexy Jeans. These jeans are true to the name - they fit like no other pants on this list. They are SO flattering, however they are not a wide hip friendly jean.

Fit & Details
If you’re looking for a modern, straight-leg fit that hugs in all the right places, these are a dream. I wear a size 2 in the Bleach wash, and the fit is tailored without being too tight through the thigh or waist—perfect if you have a petite frame with more balanced proportions. The rise hits at just the right spot, giving you that on-trend, high-waist look (without the dreaded gap at the back).

Inseam & Length
They come in one inseam, and at 5’2”, they are perfect on me!

Notes on Sizing
If you have curvier hips or prefer a roomier fit at the waist and bum, these may not be your go-to—there’s not a ton of stretch, and the cut is definitely on the slim side. But if you have a straighter or more petite build, they’re a total win.

Why I Love Them
These jeans instantly elevate any outfit, whether I’m pairing them with a tucked-in blouse for brunch or a cozy knit for running errands. They’re versatile, chic, and give that effortless French-girl look.

Aritzia Rowan Super Hi-Rise Straight Ankle Jean (Size 24 in No Stress Light Blue)

Our second pair is the Aritzia Roawn Super Hi-Rise jean. These are my favorite jeans that Aritzia makes, primarily because of the the rise. Some jeans are high rise, these are HIGH RISE. I know low rise and mid rise are having a moment right now, but on a petite frame, I still prefer a high rise cut of denim - I just think it elongates that leg (which I need lol).

Quince Bella Stretch Kick Flare Jeans (Size 24 in Medium Wash)

Next up are the Quince Bella Stretch Kick Flare jeans. These jeans are $50 and they are so flattering! They are most a flare style, which is a fun way to mix things up. They are super stretchy - I got them in the 28in inseam. If you’re on the hunt for affordable petite jeans, especially as a shorter gal, finding trendy styles that actually fit can be a wild goose chase. These are a fantastic option for petite frames, with a slim leg through the thigh that gives way to a subtle kick flare—think a cute little nod to the retro trend, but in a way that doesn’t overwhelm smaller proportions. The stretch factor makes them comfy enough for all-day wear, whether you’re running errands, hitting brunch, or just living your best casual life. Also, if you typically struggle with gaping at the waist or jeans that are way too long, these are a dream. Highly recommend for anyone on the lookout for petite-friendly, budget-conscious denim!

Spanx SPANXShape EveryWear Wide Leg Jeans (Size XS in Raw Indigo)

Dark Blue denim is having a moment, and these Spanx jeans are the perfect way to jump on the trend. I call these jeans because they look like jeans, but that’s where the similarities stop. These are pull on pants, meaning no traditional fly or button (though there is a vanity button). They are super stretchy, and they make me legs look SO long. For anyone who loves the look of denim but can’t stand stiff, restrictive fabric, these are a win. They’re basically the unicorn of petite wide leg pants: high waisted, forgiving through the waist and hip, and with a length that works for shorter legs (no more awkward puddling at the ankles). Spanx nails the blend of comfort and structure, making these a go-to for petite dressier looks or casual days alike.

Abercrombie High Rise 90s Relaxed Jean (Size 24 Extra Short in Washed Black With Raw Hem)

Moving into Black Denim, these Abercrombie High Rise 90s relaxed jeans are some of my favorite from Abercrombie right now. They raw hem at the bottom makes them so casual, and they come in 5 inseam lengths. I am wearing the extra short, and they are perfect on me! If you love the 90s vibe but don’t want to deal with endless trips to the tailor, these are a must-try. The “extra short” length means no hemming necessary for petite girls. Plus, the relaxed fit (but not baggy) shape is a fresh alternative to skinny jeans, and the raw hem gives you that effortless, lived-in edge. These are also a great option if you’re looking for petite high waisted pants with a more relaxed silhouette.

Everlane The Original Cheeky Jean (Size 24 Crop in Washed Black)

I have loved the Everlane Original Cheeky jean for years now because as someone with a petite frame, sometimes the wide legs pants that have been so popular in the past few years can swallow my frame. These are by no means a skinny jean, but they are more fitted then a lot of other pants on this list. I think these are super flattering if you are on the shorter side like I am. If you’re someone who prefers a straight leg or slim fit (without going full-on skinny), these are a staple. The cropped length is perfect for petites, and the fit hugs in all the right places without being tight. Plus, the slight stretch makes them a great everyday option. Definitely a go-to for anyone looking for petite denim pants that are versatile and flattering.

Colored pants

Spanx SPANXShape EveryWear Cropped Wide Leg Jeans (Size XS in Chalk)

I LOVE a white pant for spring & summer, and these ones from spanx are going to be my go to this year. Like the dark blue pair above, these jeans are a pull on style pant with no fly or (functional) button. They are super stretch, and SO comfortable. Perfect for that spring vacation or a summer lunch with your girl friends! White skinny jeans for petites can be tricky, but this cropped wide leg is such a fresh take. The elastic waist is a huge bonus for comfort, and since they’re not see-through, you can wear them with confidence. These also totally work as petite cropped pants and can easily be dressed up or down. Love them for travel, too!

Sezane Le Crop Jeans (Size 2 in Coffee)

The Sezane Le Crop jeans are probably my favorite jeans that Sezane makes. They are SO flattering, while also being comfortable. Sezane makes some of the highest quality, best fitting denim on this list, and you would not be disappointed if you splurged on a pair of their denim! If you’re looking for something a little different, the coffee color is gorgeous and just feels a little more elevated than your typical blue jeans. The fit is petite-friendly and works especially well for those with slim legs. These could also easily pass as petite trendy pants or even petite corduroy pants if you’re switching up textures. A splurge, but honestly worth it if you want something unique for your closet.

Everlane The Utility Straight Leg Pant (Size 00 Regular in Rosewood)

If you have been following me for a while now, you will recognize these Utility Straight Leg pants from Everlane. These pants have been in just about every styling video I have made in the last 6 months for good reason - they just work! They are perfect on a petite frame like mine, they come in a bunch of different colors (8 to be exact), and they come in 2 different inseam lengths. I’m wearing the 26.5in inseam here, and they are perfect with a pair of flats or sandals. If you’re a color lover, you’ll be happy to know these pants come in an impressive range of shades beyond the usual neutrals—think navy, olive, classic black, brown, ivory, fresh white, denim blue, and even a pop of burgundy or pink if you want to branch out. Whether you gravitate toward timeless neutrals or want to experiment with rich greens, warm khakis, or a little bit of metallic, there’s a color for every mood and season. With options like grey, coffee, and even a cheerful yellow, it’s easy to find the perfect match for your wardrobe staples.

Spanx SuperSmooth Stretch Twill Slim Straight Pant (Size XS Petite in Dark Pine)

Next are a pair of straight pants from Spanx. These come in 3 different length options, but I’m wearing the petite. They are super flattering and like all Spanx pants - stretchy! If you’re on the hunt for versatile petite pants, these definitely check the boxes: they’re comfortable, easy to pull on, and have that perfect slim fit without feeling restrictive. Whether you’re looking for a pair of slim fit petite pants for the office, travel, or a casual day out, these are a great staple to have in your closet. They’re lightweight yet structured, and the elastic waist means you can wear them all day without any digging in—major bonus points in my book.

TAILORED PANTS

Spanx SuperSmooth Stretch Twill Wide Leg Pant (Size XS Petite in Bone)

Now we are getting into trousers. Even though I got these Spanx Stretch Twill Wide Leg Pants in Petite, they are still more of a full length pant on me. They will cover a little bit of your shoes, so I am wearing them with a 1in heel from Everlane. These are a great option for the office! If you love a tailored look but need a bit of stretch for comfort, these deliver on all fronts. The wide leg style is super flattering for petites and helps balance proportions beautifully. Plus, the twill fabric feels luxe but is still breathable enough for long days.

Aritzia Effortless Pant (Size 0 Short in Light Birch)

I truly believe everybody needs to try a pair of the effortless pants from Aritzia. The construction is so good, and these ones in light birch are such a beachy vibe! They come in 4 inseam lengths, I am wearing the short because I wanted them to fit like a full length pant on me. These are perfect if you’re after that lightweight, elevated look—think easy brunches or even more polished events. The high-waisted fit is especially great for petites, giving that leg-lengthening effect we all love.

Lululemon Stretch Spacer High-Rise Pant (Size XS in Espresso)

Lululemon is getting in to the trouser game with these stretch spacer high rise pants. These pants feel like leggings. They are so comfortable, but so polished looking. These would be perfect for an all day work conference or a day out running errands! They only come in one inseam length, but at 5’2” they work on me! If you’re searching for pants that multitask—office, travel, lounging—these are a must. The fabric is lightweight (again think literal leggings) and has just enough give to keep you moving comfortably all day.

Vuori Meta Crop Pant (Size XS in Dark Java)

Vuori is also in on the activewear trouser game, but their’s is a slightly different take then Lululemon. Where the Lululemon is more of a legging, these Meta Cropped Pants from Vuori are more a sweatpant material (think Everlane dream pant). They are SO comfortable and work perfect on my petite frame. The cropped length looks intentional (not just “too long and bunched up!”), and the elastic waist makes them a dream for travel or weekends. Truly, these are the kind of pants that make you want to ditch your jeans for good.

Quick round-up of petite-friendly features to look for in tailored pants:

  • Length Options: Always check if there are multiple inseams or petite-specific sizing.

  • Stretch Fabric: Look for pants with a bit of give for all-day comfort.

  • Elastic or Pull-On Waist: Especially great for petites and anyone who values ease.

  • Lightweight Materials: Keep things comfortable and seasonally versatile.

  • Slim, Cropped, or Tapered Silhouettes: These tend to be most flattering for smaller frames, helping elongate the legs.

Finding the right pair of tailored pants as a petite can be a challenge, but with these styles, you’ll be set for everything from workdays to weekends.

BARREL PANTS

Everlane The Easy Barrel Pant (Size XXS in Black)

Barrel pants are a bit of a controversial trend at the moment, but these easy barrel pants are a great way to dip your toe in the water. I think barrel pants are popular because they elongate the leg, which I can always use more of. These barrel pants from Everlane tie at the waist, and have a softer barrel style, so they’re not going to feel so extreme if you are hesitant to fully commit to a barrel style pant. If you’re looking to explore the world of barrel and wide-leg pants a bit further, there are so many styles designed specifically for petites that offer that leg-lengthening effect. From pintucked wide legs to patch pocket details and even belted barrel silhouettes, you can really find a shape that suits your vibe. I’ve noticed a ton of cropped options, high-rise fits, and even those with extra soft, comfy elastic waists—so you’re not sacrificing comfort for style. If you’re after something with a little more structure, pintucked seams or tie waists keep things polished, while still feeling effortless. Plus, there are always fantastic sales if you’re looking to try a trend without a huge investment.

Everlane The Off Duty Barrel Pant (Size XXS in Black)

If I had to describe the Off Duty Barrel pant in one word - I would say breezy. These pants breathe so well, they are so comfy with the elastic waist band, and I just can’t stop wearing them. I have them in a few colors, and they are just so good!! Looking for more options? There are tons of pull-on styles and even some with patch pockets, cropped hems, or tie waists—so if you’re not ready for a full-on barrel, you can opt for a slimmer or straighter cut that still feels fresh. The best part: many of these are available at a fraction of the original price, so you can experiment with different silhouettes (like cropped, wide leg, or even a slim flare) without breaking the bank.

PULL ON PANTS

Quick Guide: Why I Love Pull-On Pants for Petites

  • Comfort meets style: Whether you’re after petite high-waisted pants, slim leg, or a breezy linen option, pull-on pants are the MVP for comfort without the frump.

  • No tailoring required: The elastic waists and cropped lengths mean no trips to the tailor for petites.

  • Versatile picks: From dressy work days to lazy weekends, there’s a pull-on style for every mood.

  • Petite-friendly details: Think tapered legs, cropped hems, and fabrics that flatter smaller frames.

If you’ve been hunting for petite stretch skinny pants, petite straight pants, or even petite cargo pants, don’t underestimate the power of a great pull-on pant—they really do it all!

Aritzia Integrate Pant (Size XS in Black)

The Integrate pants are for my dog owners out there. If you love to wear black like I do, but have dogs, these pants do not attract dog hair, which is SO nice. They also don’t need to be steamed, making them the perfect pant to travel with! They are technically a mid rise style pant, but they go well over my hips, and are super flattering! These are a fantastic choice if you’re looking for comfortable petite pants that still feel dressy, especially for those who want a slim fit without sacrificing comfort. The pull-on style is ideal for busy mornings or long workdays—think women’s lounge pants, but with a polished twist. If you’ve struggled to find petite high-waisted pants that don’t overwhelm your frame, these check all the boxes.

Abercrombie Menswear Pull-On Pant (Size XXS Short in Black Pinstripe)

Unlike the Aritzia pants above, the Abercrombie Menswear pant unfortunately does attract dog hair. I find myself lint rolling these almost every time I wear them – which is a lot because I LOVE these pants. These have become a go to for me on travel days. They are so comfy, and fit like a full length pant on me in the short inseam.

If you’re searching for affordable petite jeans alternatives or slim fit petite pants that transition flawlessly from plane to dinner, these are a petite-friendly option. The menswear-inspired cut is trendy, the elastic waist makes them easy to wear, and the pinstripe gives a nod to classic office style—without feeling stuffy.

Aritzia Weekender Pant (Size Small in Rich Mocha Brown)

The weekender pant is a slimmer style pull on pant from Aritzia. They are more of an activewear material, and truly could be dressed up or down. If you want petite trendy pants that are as comfy as sweatpants but look way more put together, these should be on your radar. These are the perfect fit pants for women who want versatility: pair them with a blazer for brunch or a tank for errands.

Quince 100% European Linen Pants (Size XS in Flax)

I’m sure by now you are tired of hearing me talk about these Quince Linen pants, but y’all. $40. 100% linen. These are a can’t lose for spring and summer this year. They are so comfy, breezy, and if you are petite, they are the perfect linen pants for you!

Fabric Details:
These pants are made from pure European flax linen, so they’re lightweight, naturally breathable, and just get better with every wash. The fabric feels substantial but not heavy—think of that perfect balance where it’s structured enough to look polished but relaxed enough for a beach day or running errands. And if you’re wondering about stretch, these are true linen, so there’s that classic airy, slightly crisp feel you want for warm weather (no synthetic stretch blends here).

Honestly, if you’ve struggled to find linen pants that aren’t see-through, these have you covered—especially in the flax color. Plus, the fit is petite-friendly, so they aren’t dragging on the ground if you’re on the shorter side (and no need for hemming!).

Aritzia Charleston Poplin Pant (Size XS in leighton pwnkl bl/wt)

The Charleston Poplin Pants are such a cozy beach aesthetic. I wore these so much on our trip to 30a, the white and blue stripe detail is SO cute. Downside with these pants - they don’t have pockets. Not sure what’s up with that, but they are so cute that honestly I was willing to put up with it. I usually just carry a purse with me anyways! If you’re seeking petite cropped pants or a more relaxed fit for vacation, these are a breezy, fun pick. They’re proof that pants for women with petite frames can still have personality (and stripes!) without feeling overwhelming.
