My Summer Lookbook | 17 summer outfit ideas to look cute and stay cool in the summer months!
I’m back with another lookbook for Summer, 2023! In this video I feature 17 outfit ideas that are both elevated & comfortable for the hot summer months! I’ve got some new arrivals from Revolve, Abercrombie & Fitch, Everlane + more! Outfit 1
If you’re a fan of the Abercrombie & Fitch tailored pants than you will absolutely love the tailored shorts! They’re a great way to transition that workwear style into the hot summer months. I love that you can really dress them up with nicer tops - like I did with this Abercrombie Drama Puff Sleeve Ruched Top! But you could also style them with a simple fitted tank and white leather sneakers for a more street style vibe! I can already tell that I’ll be wearing these shorts a ton this summer. Also be sure to check out Target for great summer sandals at an affordable price! I found 3 great pairs recently including these Woven Mule Heels!

This next look is a cute and casual summer outfit! I love this linen peplum top from Petal and Pup. It has thin straps to keep you cool and is lined so you can wear it with your favorite strapless bra or sticky bra. I’ve got it paired with my favorite denim shorts of all time, the Agolde Dee shorts. These shorts are super high waisted and the perfect med-length inseam! I love them so much I have them in black as well :)

Outfit 3
My go-to summer top is a knit tank, and this one from Madewell has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s more of a crochet knit style and has the cutest scalloped detailing along the bottom! I’ve got it paired with these Everlane Way-High Canvas shorts, which are some of my favorite nicer shorts. They’re super high waisted and a longer inseam, making them more appropriate for nicer outings! For my shoes I’ve got on my Nisolo Ama Woven mules - I have these in brown as well, and once you break them in they are so comfy for all day wear!

Dress: XXS Petite
If you’re looking for a great dress for summer this Abercrombie & Fitch Trapeze Midi Dress is it! It’s a lightweight cotton which is perfect for staying cool in the summer, and it doesn’t cling to the body at all - making it so comfy! I love the way it fits and it comes in petite and tall as well. If you haven’t checked out Abercrombie and Fitch yet… I would highly recommend it! I’ve gotten countless pieces from there over the past couple of years, and they’ve always got great new arrivals for each season (especially dresses). For my shoes I’ve got on my Nisolo All-Day Open Toe Clogs which are surprisingly comfy and very cute!

I’ve been loving the tennis skirt look lately, not only for actually playing tennis but just in general. I feel like you can have a lot of fun dressing up or down a tennis skirt. For this outfit I have on a pleated tennis skirt from Princess Polly that I got a couple of years ago. It’s no longer available but I’ve linked a similar skort (even better) from Aerie! To dress it up I’ve got on this asymmetrical drop shoulder top from Revolve. The revolve site has a lot of really unique pieces, so I like to get a lot of fun tops there! For my shoes I’ve got on some pearl heels from Dolce Vita which I got last year and have worn multiple times to events and special occasions. I love the feminine look of pearls, so they’re a great statement shoe to addd to any outfit! My bag is from YSL which I got last year around springtime. It’s the Saint Laurent Cassandra Medium Chain Bag in canvas - it was part of YSL’s seasonal design release, but is still available in their staple leather options. I love the cream leather version of this bag too!

If you watched my most recent Everlane Haul you already know how obsessed I am with this long sleeve linen top! It’s perfectly lightweight and dramatic, all while being classic at the same time! Everlane has some of my favorite linen pieces - you simply cannot beat the quality. For my bottoms I’ve got on these really great Belted High-Rise Shorts from Madewell. They have a double tie in the front which is a fun detail and the rich camel color is stunning in person. They are a super high rise and great length inseam! As I’ve gotten older (now 27 year old) I’ve been gravitating toward shorts with longer inseams, and I’m grateful that longer shorts have been in lately!!

Whenever I put together lookbooks I like to included at least one casual/activewear/loungewear look, because let’s be honest, some days you just don’t want to put real pants on! I recently got these Lab Stretch Woven Pants from Lululemon and let me tell you… they’re soooo comfy. I love that they’re a more baggy style because I can wear them with fitted tanks or sports bras. I’ve got on my tried and tru Free People Happiness Runs Square Neck Crop Tank which I discover back in 2021 and haven’t been able to stop wearing since! I love working out in these tanks, but also they’re great under sweaters & as tops as well. Over the Free People tank I’ve got on this really cool cropped sweater vest from Revolve which pairs perfectly, and my Lululemon Belt bag! For shoes I’ve got on these Nisolo Athleisure Eco-Knit Sneakers - which are super comfy and right between an actual activewear sneaker & a more dressy leather sneaker!

Top: Size 00, Bottoms: Size 23
I’ve collected a few Everlane Linen Button Ups at this point, and I love wearing them open over tanks, over swimsuits, and buttoned up tucked into nice pants or shorts. I recently added the Agolde Parker Long Short to my wardrobe. I had heard so many people rave about this specific style of Agolde Short, and knowing that I loved the Dee Short I figured it was worth giving a try!! My thoughts on the Parker Long Short?? They’re awesome!! I feel like they are a great compliment to the Dee Short - they’re a shorter rise which is perfect if you’re shorter like I am and you don’t want the shorts to go up to your ribs. They also are a slightly longer inseam :)
Mostly I am just a hard core fan of Agolde right now!

This next look is pretty classic! I love an all neutral fit - wearing this knit tank from Petal and Pup and these black linen shorts from Revolve! This is a super light and breezy outfit for the hotter days that are approaching. For my shoes I’m wearing the Woven Mules from Nisolo and my Celine Ava Strap bag! Don’t be afraid to mix black and brown together - as you can see in the Ava bag it can be done tastefully and elegantly!

Would this actually be a by Chloe Wen lookbook without an all beige outfit? If you’ve been around here for a while this look shouldn’t surprise you! I love an all cream outfit and Abercrombie has everything you need to make it happen yourself! This Satin Cowl Neck Top is just one of their many new arrivals that screams elegance. They’ve got a bunch of incredible basics and statement pieces right now! These jeans are also from Abercrombie - they’re the iconic Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean, and summer is the perfect time to break out your white denim :)

Guys, for real, don’t sleep on the skort! It’s like the Tailored Pants all over again - I now have so many skorts in my wardrobe! This one from Abercrombie is so cute with the pleats. I love it with this One shoulder Sweater Tank from Madewell and classic black accessories! These Strappy black heels from Madewell have been my go-to lately.

I quickly fell in love with this Satin Square Neck Slip Dress from Everlane. It comes in black and cream, but I thought this rust color was stunning - especially with white/cream accessories! I love a slip dress because it’s a really easy style to dress up or down. I’ve got it on with a cropped blazer from Abercrombie and some new nude heels from Target. This Madewell Puff Crossbody Bag goes with just about everything :)
Outfit 13
I’ve shared this crochet top from Revovle quite a few times, but only because I wear it so much! It’s a really great tank that can be shortened depending on where you want it to hit on your waist. I’ve got it paired with the Everlane Easy Short - these shorts are super comfy and come in a bunch of colors! For my shoes I have on my new Day Crossover Sandal (I just got these, but have already worn them so much). And of course my Medium Woven Transport Tote, which is one of my favorite bags for traveling!

If you guys couldn’t tell I have been very into Revolve lately, especially for unique pieces! I found this really cool Free People Lace tank and immediately thought it would be cool to pair with some black cut-off denim shorts. These shorts are from Abercrombie, and if you couldn’t tell already, I’ve been loving Abercrombie’s Pants and Shorts. For accessories I’ve got on my tried and true Gucci Wallet on Chain bag (this is by far one of my most worn designer bags) and my Everlane Day Twist Sandals.

Skort. Skort. Skort. I love a skort! But for real… I’ve had this wrap skort from Petal and Pup for a while and it works with so many different tops! I’ve worn it to events, causally with sneakers, and to conferences as well. It’s super comfy but looks really put together! For my top I’ve got on a new knit tank from Everlane! It comes in cream as well and fits really nicely. I love the quality of Everlane, and this tank feels really nice. For my shoes I’ve got on my most worn white leather sneakers from Everlane. The Court sneaker is so good - I even wore them to the Taylor Swift Eras concert and my feet didn’t hurt at all (praise)!

This dress from Revolve is so pretty in person! It’s a really nice muted green and has gold threading subtly throughout. I’ve got it on with the Small Woven Transport Crossbody bag from Madewell and these Braided flat sandals from Dolce Vita!

If you watched my Favorite Denim Shorts For Summer Video you know I’ve been loving the Abercrombie Dad Shorts! They’re a little bit of a longer inseam, but honestly they’re the best long short I’ve seen. I’m a bit on the shorter side so this inseam length is perfect for me! I’ve got them paired with one of my favorite basic tank from Abercrombie and a white blazer for an elevated look. For my bag I’ve got on a sleek shoulder bag from Madewell, and these woven slides from Target!

Finding activewear that actually fits when you're petite is tricky, but luckily Lululemon seems to always have what I need! This haul has the perfect summer pieces for exercising or just running errands - petite approved (I’m 5’2). Plus this butter yellow color might be one of the best colors to wear in the summer!
